A fix for the worst upgrade experience ever!!!

The below was written some time ago. It applies to the update of 5/2/2016 too. Whats wrong with these people? ************ Today iBird released a an update that restores info from iCloud. It worked. Nice to know this was successfully addresses quickly but there is still a concern that it happened all. See below written last week: All notes are lost. A immeasurable amount of time an effort down the drain. How could any organization be so stupid and incompetent?

Beautiful !

If you like and want to know more about birds, this app is for you. Ive checked them all and this is the best. Updated regularly.

Wonderfully informative

Great tool to help with ID of birds. A very helpful app; intuitive, insightful fun.

Updates are over 1 gig - inexcusable

Not good for us on limited cell data plans. I assume much of the data is images so they need to figure out how not to re-download for each version.

Best app- information at fingertips!

I love the app, use it all the time. Best ever was when I played the bald eagle sounds and the eagle perched above us on the power line put his head back and answered note for note! The 4 of us golfing were amazed!!!!!

Love it!

Ive had this app for years and just have neglected to do a review. Its awesome! The sounds, the pics and all the info has been very helpful in identifying birds. Highly recommend.

Great app, BUT

This has been an invaluable tool for birding, and even though it takes up an enormous amount in of memory on my phone, I still keep it, deleting other apps if I need space. However, updates take forever, and the latest one will not install on my iPhone 6. Very frustrating. Works flawlessly on the iPad Air, but the iPad is too large to carry around with binoculars and camera gear.

Super Birding App

I have found my iBird Pro app so useful when I am out in the field each and every time. Its ready immediately and no fuss no muss. I have recommended this app to many of my birding friends and teachers who work with kids. IBU013116ASP

Makes a novice birder an expert.

Im a beginner with birding but I find this apps performance very useful. A 10 out of 10.

Excellent

Easy to use, packed with photos and recorded sounds. Opening page for each bird is a drawing, which I prefer. Field marks can be hidden if you wish. Love it.

Favorite Bird App

Very useful search feature that allows many parameters in narrowing the field. The calls are accurate enough to bring some species in closer. My favorite features are the Ecology, Range, and Habitat. Rarely do I enjoy something of this ilk as much as a book in hand, but this App is a winner!

Great birding app

I have sibley, nation geographic, Peterson and ibird pro. Use them all but vocalizations/songs are MUCH better in Ibird pro. And the photos are great. Overall a great addition to birding guides

Enjoy it.

Best Bird app Ive used. Go to every time. Removed all th other to make room.

Superb in Every Detail

Every bit as useful as the best field guides and more portable. Its the first resource I go to for identifying new sightings. The appeal of working this app is a great way to introduce children to birding.

I want my money back!

I bought this & it was working fine, but then it showed an update, it would NEVER UPDATE! So I rebooted the iPhone, nothing, tried turning wifi connection off & on, still not working. Then deleted the app & was going to reinstall app but it will not add it when you touch the iCloud icon. If this no longer available I should get a refund or the newest pro version. If this is discontinued why is it still in App Store?

Only app I have spent real money on - no regrets.

This is my go-to app for birds and it has never let me down. As others have mentioned it takes up a lot of memory so updates can be a hassle. When I update my phone I now make sure I get lots of memory- for songs, photos and this app it is worth it. I especially like the song feature because I often can hear, but not clearly see a bird. The song helps me pin the ID. Once I even used it to try to get a kestrel back to her young. Whether its looking at me feeder or on a hike this app is wonderful. I tried the Audubon app but this is much better. I tend to be cheap about apps but this was over $20 and I love it.

Open first...

Love photos, facts, identify, and other details. I also like that this app includes species that other apps do not. Prefer drawings in Sibley app as they seem to have more detailed seasonal, regional, and sex variations. However, this app is just filed with all kinds of great information. I usually open it first.

Its my go to app for birding.

I have numerous birding apps and this one gets the most use. Ive purchased the big name guides but if I could only keep one this one stays

Good, but could be great...

Intuitive, interesting, and in touch with what a user wants for bird identifications. However, It needs to take the next steps to truly make it a daily must have in the field which is integration with eBird, filtering by state, and peek arrival and departure dates for each species which would make this app 5 stars and twice as valuable!
