iBird Pro Guide to Birds App Reviews

Love it- very useful reference that I find myself using more and more.

With the addtion of logging field notes for sightings, this latest version of iBird Explorer Pro is the must-have companion for any birder who carries their iPhone around with them. You will always have an authoritative bird reference with you, and now you can record your sightings. Get the Pro version over the other less costly versions of iBird - you wont regret it. Money well spent - costs less than a good printed field guide, and you get a more useful reference that is much easier to use. Even when you are not outside observing birds, you can self-teach about birds during idle time while you sit on a bus or aircraft, wait for a doctors appointment or restaurant service, or sit in your easy chair!

The photos are useful as well as the feature that allows you to see similar sounding species. I use other apps as well but those features stand out for this app. On the negative side, the app is less user friendly and simple than Sibleys app for example.

Love the app. I use it regularly in teaching and doing call playback surveys. I cant imagine going back to taped calls.

This app is a lot of fun. I especially love the search features and listening to the bird calls.

Im not a border, but its great to help figure out what bird Im looking at.

I do enjoy this app and hope you will come up with new ideas on regular basis. No complaints to speak of!

Great app - am trying to learn songs and it allows you to slide from song to song till you get the right one. Excellent!

Good search capabilities helps identify birds.

Every time I see a bird that I want to look up,this app never has it. What a pain !

A wonderful thing when you can open a app to find information on a strange but beautiful bird that just flew into your yard.

iBird Pro makes bird identification easy, and the additional information it provides adds considerable interest to birding as a hobby. I love it.

My husband and I have been using this app since it first came out. Our favourite thing to do while we are camping is to play predictor calls and watch the other campers look for the birds. It is also great for trying to fit bird calls to the bird, just hours of enjoyment!

It is wonderful. Easy to find birds based on so many factors. Good pics to help you identify. The birdsong is my favourite feature. Only 4 stars because of one thing: each update is a full install, and unless you have inexpensive unlimited internet, you cant update often.

Wonderful design and very informative. For a novice birder like myself I love the quick ID tips. The app is constantly being updated with new artwork and features. Great purchase!

The latest version will NOT update. I deleted it hoping that would make it work, but now Ive completely lost the app. HELP!

Great app, but its a money sham. I already dished out $30 for the this version a year ago and now they make a better app called ibird ultimate that we have to dish out another $30 to get. Its the exact same but has 2 extra features. You should be able to upgrade for ten dollars. There screwing over all there past customers out of another $30, because this app becomes obsolete once they purchase the new one.

Love it. Have used it almost every day this past bird breeding season! Worth every penny! Joanne
