iBird Pro Guide to Birds App Reviews

I love this app for confirming identifications, and learning more about the birds in my region. I love being able to match the sounds of birds to the source species.

I like this app. Its generally convenient and the photos help when the drawings are vague. It would be great if two images could be viewed at once in the case of similar species. Another feature that would be helpful is if search criteria could be saved.

I use this app weekly if not daily. Im a bird watcher and enjoy the interesting facts and bird behavior in many of the listings. Just wish youd include more birds I see in Mexico. Then I wont have to drag 2 pounds of books with me. Just saw a family of Masked Titryas and would love to see them included

It helps identify birds youve never seen before or birds youve seen a lot and just wondered what to call them. You can filter through a very long list of birds using traits such as size, color, location, range, bill shape, and so on to narrow the field to a handful for comparison to what youve observed. Then you can find more information about the bird youve identified. Neat!

I have been able to play the sounds from the app on my iphone and have those birds come close to see where that bird is. I even attracted a red shouldered hawk. Well worth the money.

Nice to have a " bird book" along everywhere. I use the sound recordings a lot to verify my guesses. I do think they do continuous improvements so comments are useful for them.

The excellent sound files have helped me many times to nail a birds ID.

I like the photos to help identify particularly the females. I find the thumb print indxing a bit small on my iPand mini.

Only thing that could make it better would be actual color photographs instead of the artists painting

I have had this app since it first came out. Great portable app with lots of information. It could have ore pictures, but the ones in the app are beautiful. Also appreciate the bird calls.

I really enjoy having this reference at my fingertips. Very practical!

I got the iBird Pro a few years ago and it is my go to guide while birding in the field. The photos are excellent and the sounds are perfect for definitive identification. It cant completely replace a hand held guide but I dont want to lug a book into the field. The phone app is perfect and I can add a life bird easily in notes section. A must have for birders!

Love this app. Easy to find the bird you are searching. Birds sounds a major plus. Great for newbies like me.

I have tried a bunch. This is the best birding app out there. Worth every penny.

No favorites, it used to have a favorites function for a faster reference, but one of the updates did away with it or I just cant find it anywhere, frustrating to have to type in the whole name of the bird you want to find quickly, otherwise I cant say enough good about this app.
